ASV

American Standard Version

The American Standard Version (ASV) was published in 1901 as the American edition of the Revised Version, itself a revision of the King James Bible. It is known for staying very close to the wording of the Hebrew and Greek, and it is in the public domain.

The ASV renders God’s name as “Jehovah” in the Old Testament and keeps the older “thee” and “thou”. The World English Bible is a modern update of this translation.
